Newington’s second dispensary is ready to open, with Zen Leaf Newington scheduled to open its doors for business Friday.
Verano Holdings Corp., a Chicago-based multistate cannabis operation, has opened its fourth dispensary in Connecticut at 2903 Berlin Turnpike, the site of the former Bonefish Grill. The dispensary will serve both adult-use customers and medical patients, according to the company.
Verano also operates Zen Leaf dispensaries in Meriden, Norwich and Waterbury, and a 217,000-square-foot grow and processing facility, CTPharma, in Rocky Hill. Meriden and Norwich are hybrid dispensaries while Waterbury currently serves medical patients only.
Following the opening of Zen Leaf Norwich in July, Zen Leaf Newington is Verano’s second equity joint venture partnership with a social equity applicant.
The company is planning a total of six equity joint venture dispensaries in the state, Verano officials said.
