Newington military manufacturer C Products Defense Inc. has moved its operations from Connecticut to Florida, where it plans to add 100 jobs over the next five years, according to the Manatee Economic Development Council in Florida.

C Products Defense, or CPD, use robotic welding units to manufacture ammunition magazines for the military, law enforcement and gun makers. The company’s manufacturing and distribution operations are moving to Manatee County, Florida.

The Manatee Board of County Commissioners gave CPD $100,000 in performance-based incentives on the condition the company hires 100 people over the next five years with an average wage 15 percent higher than the county average.

The company is moving two people from its Connecticut location and using Florida employees to fill the other positions, including 15 this year and another 35 next years. CPD’s distribution arm, LCJ Wholesale, will add employees in Florida as well.
