Newington-based PCX Aerosystems has been awarded a $105 million U.S. Army contract.
The work includes maintenance and overhaul of the rotary wing head for Apache helicopters, and the contract has a completion date of May 2031. PCX was the sole bidder for the work.
PCX Aerosystems specializes in advanced metal machining for aircraft, spacecraft, submarines and missiles.
In 2025, PCX merged with Applied Aerospace to form Applied Aerospace and Defense.
The combined company has more than 1,300 employees and facilities in nine locations across five states including California and Connecticut. In Connecticut PCX operates in Enfield and Manchester as well as Newington.
Until last year, PCX Aerosystems was owned by Greenwich-based private equity firm Greenbriar Equity Group, which bought the company in 2021.
