New truck terminal development planned in Middletown

A Wallingford-based transport company owner is looking to build a trucking terminal on vacant land in Middletown.

Applicant Harpreet Sandhu is planning an 8,100-square-foot warehouse with eight standard loading docks and two large-truck docks and truck parking on Lot 7 at 370 Timber Ridge Road, Middletown.

Harpreet and Manjeet Sandhu are principals of H&J Trucking LLC and Sandhu Transport LLC, both based out of Wallingford.

The warehouse would be used for unloading, processing and shipping freight, according to city land use officials. The building would also have office space, a restroom, lobby and lunch room.

The property would have 24 regular parking spaces and parking for 18 tractor trailers when they are not using the loading docks.

The 6.25 acres of vacant land are owned by TBS Plus LLC and principal Vincent Dipentima of Cromwell. It has a current appraised value of $13,200.

Sandhu would purchase the property from Dipentima if the application is approved.

The application is currently before the city Planning and Zoning Commission.
