A new tourism group is bringing its message to the State Capitol to seek better funding, more pro-business policies, and public support.
The Connecticut Tourism Coalition is a newly formed coalition of advocates from all sectors of the Connecticut tourism Industry. It will hold a Tourism Advocacy Day on March 15.
The coalition is led by Stephen Tagliatela, innkeeper/managing partner of Saybrook Point Inn in Old Saybrook, and Franklin Construction, a real estate developer and management company located in New Haven.
He said the goal of the group is to unite tourism industry partners to advocate for a dedicated source of annual funding. Tagliatela said it will help strengthen the Connecticut economy.
A spokesman said the coalition has been working on its formation since the summer of 2015 and officially received its 501c4 status in December.Â
