New Stepny Place apartments planned in Rocky Hill

A West Hartford development company is looking to build 72 more multifamily units in the residential area known as Stepny Place in Rocky Hill.

Stepny Place is an existing multi-story apartment building on 9 acres along Silas Deane Highway.

Owner and applicant Stepny Place LLC and The Simon Konover Co. have submitted plans to build three new three-story buildings each with 24 apartments ranging from studios up to three bedrooms on 4 acres of mostly wooded land on the southern side of 1800 Silas Deane Highway.

Ten percent of the apartments would be deemed affordable. The area is zoned residential, and the project site is surrounded by a mix of commercial and residential developments.
