New self-storage facility, manufacturer expansion planned in Enfield

A self-storage operator is looking to build a new facility in an industrial area of Enfield.

JR Clisham, of Farmington-based Connecticut Self Storage, has applied to the Enfield Planning and Zoning Commission to build CT Self Storage of Enfield.

The development would feature 67,230 square feet of self-storage units over 10, one-story buildings along with an office at 210 Moody Road.

The property is on Lot 3 of a recently subdivided property owned by Jeffrey S. Mitchell of Top-Knott LLC.

Mitchell, of Stafford Springs, is the owner of International Configurations Inc., a plug and wiring manufacturer.

He is building a 13,900-square-foot addition to an existing 28,000-square-foot warehouse and distribution center on Lot 1 of his Moody Road property.

The original warehouse was built in 2008, and sits on 21.2 acres at the intersection of Moody and Taylor roads.

Applicants could not be reached for comment, and plans for the vacant Lot 2 are unknown.
