New Jersey investor pays $1.1 million for two six-family apartment building in New Britain

A New Jersey real estate investor with a growing portfolio in central Connecticut recently purchased two six-family apartment buildings in New Britain for $1.1 million.

A limited liability company headed by Myer Kahan, of Toms River, New Jersey, bought the apartment buildings at 145 and 313 Washington St. from Dynamic Properties LLC in a sale logged by the city on March 8.

Dynamic’s principal is Michael Reyes, of Fairfield.

The 0.17-acre property at 145 Washington St. hosts a 5,724-square-foot, century-old building with six apartments. The 0.11-acre property at 313 Washington St. hosts a 4,536-square-foot building with six units completed in 1907, according to city assessing records.

In a separate deal recorded March 3, two limited liability companies headed by Kahan bought another six-family building and a five-family building in New Britain for $1 million.

Kahan made a splashier purchase in December, when another LLC under his name paid $7.96 million for a 10-story, 115-unit apartment tower in downtown Waterbury.
