New Jersey developers complete 117-unit apartment complex in Bethel

Two New Jersey-based developers have completed construction of a 117-unit apartment complex in Bethel, adding to the town’s rental housing inventory after a multi-year development effort.

Sterling Properties Group and Diversified Properties built the Kinsley Apartments on 12.5 acres at 36 Stony Hill Road through a joint venture, according to Sterling Properties Group. The developers acquired the site for $4 million in 2021.

Construction began in November 2021 and was completed in September 2025. The project consists of seven buildings, including six two- and three-story apartment buildings totaling roughly 147,000 square feet. Individual buildings contain between 18 and 21 units.

Amenities include a roughly 3,500-square-foot clubhouse, outdoor swimming pool, gazebo and dog run.

Leasing information posted on the property’s website indicates the complex offers one- and two-bedroom units. Asking rents for available apartments start above $2,500 per month for one-bedroom layouts, while two-bedroom units are listed above $3,000 per month.

In a statement, Sterling Properties Group said Bethel represented an opportunity to develop a luxury rental community in what it described as an undersupplied market with access to major highways and strong schools.

Both developers own residential properties across the Northeast, including assets in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, according to their websites.
