The town's Planning and Zoning Commission has received an application for a 9,000-square-foot contractor storage building on New Britain Avenue in Farmington.
The commission is expected to accept the application at its meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday and schedule a public hearing in December.
The application, submitted by Torrington-based Borghesi Building & Engineering, seeks a special permit and site plan review for the project at 1533 New Britain Ave., in an Industrial CR zone, according to zoning documents.
The 1.76-acre site on the east side of New Britain Avenue is bounded by other industrial businesses to the north and south, state property to the east, and the roadway to the west.
Farmington-based Barnes Property Development LLC owns the property.
The five-unit contractor storage facility would be built to the east of an existing 4,520-square-foot office building on the site.
The proposal calls for constructing a new septic system, access driveway and stormwater drainage improvements, according to a drainage report prepared by consulting engineer Donald W. Smith Jr.
The site does not contain regulated inland wetlands, according to the engineering documents.
