New Haven’s Inbox Health promotes founder to CEO

A New Haven company that helps medical billing companies communicate with patients has promoted its founder to CEO.

The Inbox Health Corp. board of directors announced the appointment of Blake Walker as CEO.

Since founding the company in 2014, Walker has served as chief product officer and led the team that developed an advanced patient communication platform for medical billing companies.

The platform, according to Inbox Health, makes it easier for billing companies and, by extension, physician practices to connect with patients to explain and collect the patient-liable portion of medical bills.

Inbox says its platform manages all patient communication after insurance adjudication is completed using bi-directional communication through SMS, email, and voice technology, along with technology-enabled mailings.

The company last year raised $1.5 million to help accelerate its sales and marketing efforts, and expand its research and development team, with Connecticut Innovations, the state’s quasi-public venture capital arm, leading the investment round. CI committed $150,000 from its pre-seed fund to Inbox Health in 2014.
