New Haven’s Higher One books strong 4Q net

Higher One Holdings Inc. had increased fourth-quarter and full-year profits for the New Haven provider of oncampus money services.

For three months ended Dec. 31, Higher One netted $12.1 million, or 22 cents a diluted share, up from $7.6 million, or 13 cents a share, netted the same period a year earlier.

Fourth-quarter revenues rose 19 percent to $49.8 million vs. $41.7 million a year earlier.

For the year, Higher One netted $36.9 million, or 65 cents a share, up from $31.9 million, or 54 cents a share, netted in 2011.

Full year revenues were $150.7 million vs. $142.6 million in 2011.
