New Haven cell phone recycler YouRenew has been acquired by a Chicago firm Clover Wireless for an undisclosed sum.
YouRenew pays businesses and consumers to sell and recycle their used electronic devices, or trade them in for newer models. The company started in 2008 and has customers ranging from nonprofits to Fortune 100 companies.
Clover Wireless purchased YouRenew to expand its cell phone trade-in, buy-back, and repair services. This is the company’s third acquisition in the cell phone trade-in industry since 2011, having acquired Full Circle Wireless of California and The Wireless Source of Oregon last year.
