New Haven Night Market returns Sept. 30

The New Haven Night Market returns this week with shopping, food and entertainment.

The free event is on Saturday, Sept. 30 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. along New Haven’s Chapel Street, between College and York streets.

More than 70 vendors are expected to participate, including artists, entrepreneurs, businesses, and other organizations. They will be selling merchandise, food and drink, and spotlighting art, music, culture and causes, according to event organizers with Town Green District.

Businesses along the Chapel Street corridor will be open for customers, with several offering raffles and special promotions.

The stage will feature music starting at 5 p.m. After the musical performances, there will be a salsa dance party at 8:30 p.m., led by the instructors, dancers, and musicians of Baila Con Gusto CT. 

Additional highlights of the event include: 

  • Yale University Art Gallery open until 8 p.m.
  • Art-making crafts under the portico at the Yale Center for British Art
  • Temporary tattoo station with the City of New Haven, Economic Development Administration
  • Button-Making Station with Ives Squared, New Haven Free Public Library 
  • Moon Photo Op painted by artist @marshunart
  • Community mural-making 
  • Game zone with lawn games, confession booth, and more in partnership with Sweets & Sounds
