New Haven native named CEO of housing company

Beacon Communities, which develops and manages affordable and mixed-income housing, has selected a New Haven native to be its new CEO.

Dara Kovel joined the company in 2015 as president of Beacon Communities Development. She is taking over as CEO for Pam Goodman, who is retiring.

“Beacon has created an exceptional track record for improving the lives of residents through creation of quality housing and exceptional property management,” Kovel said in an announcement. “I am thrilled to be leading the company into its next era.”

Kovel came to Beacon from the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority, where she led the multifamily and single-family lending and tax credit allocation divisions.
