New Haven mfr. Radiall Wallingford-bound

French electronic-cabling, fiber-optic connectors maker Radiall will relocate by fall its New Haven production facility and 80 jobs to Wallingford, officials say.

Radiall Vice President Bill Neale confirmed Thursday its scheduled September move from 65,000 square feet leased at 104 John W. Murphy Dr. to 33,000 square feet of leased space at 777 Northrop Dr. from New York landlord Midwood Investment and Development.

Based in Paris, with annual revenue of about $500 million, closely held Radiall chose Wallingford due to its ample selection of suitable manufacturing space, Neale said. Radiall was not using all of the New Haven space it inherited in the 2005 acquisition of former Applied Engineering Products.

The company received no state or local incentives or financial aid in connection with its impending move, Neale said. Meriden’s Amphenol Corp. is a rival.
