New Haven, Hfd. rank as ‘unhappy’ workplaces

New Haven — with Hartford close on its heels — is the unhappiest city in America for workers. Meantime, Bridgeport and Worcester, Mass., are among the more blissful places to work, a survey shows.

CareerBliss says it evaluated more than 40,000 independent company reviews by employees to calculate 10 key factors that impact career happiness.

The result is its “50 Happiest Cities for Work.”

Miami leads the top 10 for the second straight year, followed by Worcester, Oklahoma City, and Provo, Utah.

Bridgeport was 19th on the “happy” list.

New Haven, in contrast, led the top 30 “unhappies,” with Hartford falling in at No. 15 on the list. Providence was 24th.

None of New England’s other major cities appeared on either list.
