Shawmut Design and Construction, with offices in New Haven, created a dedicated sports venue division on Tuesday, specializing in projects at stadiums, arenas and other athletic facilities.
The new division was created after the firm completed more than two dozen projects at national stadiums including Fenway Park in Boston, Yankee Stadium in New York, MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, TD Garden in Boston and Alumni Stadium at Boston College.
The first tasks for the sports venue division will be improvements to the TD Garden in Boston, which is home to the hockey’s Boston Bruins and basketball’s Boston Celtics, and the upper level concession area at Camden Yards, home of baseball’s Baltimore Orioles.
Shawmut is an employee-owned company with offices in New Haven, Boston, Providence, New York City and Las Vegas. Its annual revenues are $650 million.
