New Haven officials joined co-owners Gopi Nair and Kannan Kesavalu on Thursday to celebrate the opening of their Indian bistro, wow!! tikka.
The restaurant is located at 135 Orange Avenue in downtown New Haven.
The space is the former home of Tikkaway Grill, Nair’s fast-casual Indian restaurant which closed last summer due to health issues and pandemic-related staffing issues.
With the help of business partner Kesavalu, they have opened wow!! tikka, which features an updated version of the Tikkaway menu. Customers can order modern Indian street food and build-your-own bowls and wraps.
“You will see and agree with me that it’s only gotten better,” Nair said about wow!! tikkas’s menu compared to Tikkaway.
Nair and Kesavalu recently opened their first restaurant together in Boston in December, and have now successfully expanded into New Haven.
