New England Urgent Care (NEUC) is marking the renovation and expansion of its original clinic, which opened in 2011 in West Hartford, with an open house Thursday evening and free flu shots this weekend.
The roughly $100,000 project added more than 500 square feet to accommodate patient volume, including a larger and newly decorated waiting area to absorb flu season surges, a sixth exam room, and new flooring and decor, according to Dr. Michael Gutman, co-founder and medical director for NEUC, which also has clinics in Bristol, Enfield, Manchester and Simsbury. In addition to the physical update, more providers will be scheduled to deal with the flu season.
The free flu shots will be given 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Friday through Sunday, at the West Hartford clinic, 21 N. Main St., for people 4 to 64 years old.
