Private employers in New England paid more in salary and benefits than the national average in June, the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today.
New England businesses paid an average hourly wage of $34.81. Of that number, 24.29 went to salaries and wages and $10.52 was for benefits.
That compared to a national average hourly wage of $29.11, which includes $20.47 in wages and $8.64 in benefits.
