The leaders of New England states and East Canadian provinces will meet in July to discuss energy initiatives, including creating green jobs.
Connecticut Gov. M. Jodi Rell will meet with the five other governors in New England and the five premiers of Eastern Canadian Provinces in Lenox, Mass. In addition to energy, the summit will include economic opportunities and Canada-U.S. relations.
The focus will be energy, though, with new technologies, transportation initiatives, climate change action, energy efficiency, development of renewables, and creating green jobs taking up the bulk of the time.
The July 12 conference will run from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Cranwell Resort in Lenox. Full agendas are online at www.scics.gc.ca.
