Mission: The New England Air Museum presents the story of aviation, the human genius that made it possible and the profound effects that it has had on the way in which we live. This is achieved by preserving historically significant aircraft, inspiring students through our innovative and hands-on education programs and engaging our visitors through high-quality exhibits.
Background: The museum is celebrating its 50th anniversary with three exhibit hangars housing an outstanding collection of historic aviation artifacts, which include more than 80 aircraft and an extensive collection of engines and personal memorabilia. The museum serves more than 60,000 visitors a year and offers an extensive educational program supporting area schools, our general visitors, and most recently, 5 to 8 year olds in our new Kidsport digital interactive exhibit. Admissions and private donations fund the museum.

Volunteer Needs: Volunteers are utilized for a number of programs including our docent / tour guide program, aircraft and engine restoration, special events, exhibit development, fund raising and library and curatorial assistance.
