New energy exec to take FuelCell global

FuelCell Energy Inc. announced Tuesday the hiring of a former Ingersoll Rand executive with global energy sales experience to hawk the Danbury company’s clean-energy power cells in industrialized and Third World countries.

Chip Bottone is FuelCell’s new senior vice president and chief commercial officer.

Bottone spent 25 years at Ingersoll Rand in a variety of roles, ending up as president of Ingersoll’s Energy Systems division.  The division’s markets included the U.S., the United Kingdom, China, India, the Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe and Russia.

FuelCell CEO R. Daniel Brdar said Bottone’s focus is to build revenue by taking advantage of growing demand in industrialized and emerging nations for clean, alternative forms of energy generation.
