The Coast Guard will be holding a change of command ceremony at its research and development center in New London, The Associated Press reports.
Capt. Matthew Sisson is scheduled to formally take over command of the center from Capt. Alan Arsenault on Thursday at Fort Trumbull State Park.
Rear Adm. John Korn, assistant commandant for acquisition, will preside over the ceremony.
The center is the Coast Guard’s only facility that performs research, development, testing and evaluation for major missions.
Staff members evaluate a mission’s cost and whether it’s feasible. They also provide operational and risk management analysis for acquisitions.
