JPMorgan Chase Bank has applied to the federal Office of the Comptroller of the Currency to put a new branch at 830 Boston Post Rd. in Guilford.
Chase’s new staffed branch would be located at the Shoreline Plaza.
A public comment period on the application runs through Monday, April 24.
The office is the administrator of the federal banking system, and it oversees nearly 1,400 national banks, federal savings associations, and federal branches of foreign banks operating within the U.S.
The Guilford Planning and Zoning Commission in March granted both site plan approval and a special permit for a free-standing bank within the plaza. The bank will lease the space, documents show.
The commission imposed several conditions on the approvals, including zoning enforcement officer inspection of erosion control measures prior to any site work. The project will include the installation of two electric vehicle-capable parking spots, town documents show.
Chase’s nearest current location is at 634 Boston Post Rd. in Madison.
