New buildings, including business school, at Quinnipiac complete south quad on campus

Quinnipiac University has opened two new academic buildings that it says marks a major milestone in the creation of the university’s South Quad on the Mount Carmel Campus.

University President Judy Olian, Provost Debra J. Liebowitz and Board of Trustees Chair Chuck Saia led a ceremony this week to cut the ribbon on the new School of Business and The SITE.

The 79,000-square-foot School of Business features an incubator to build and test new ideas; a financial technology center where students will use trading platforms, investment tools and data systems; faculty offices; and flexible lecture and event spaces.

It will also be the new home of the M&T Bank Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the M&T Bank Center for Women and Business.

Adjacent to the business school, The SITE — or Science, Innovation, Technology and Exploration — is an academic building that spans 137,000 square feet. It will house wet and dry labs, space to expand computing programs, new classrooms, and offices for deans and faculty.

The two buildings join The Grove, a new 415-bed residence hall that opened last August, to complete the South Quad.
