The Connecticut Neighbor to Neighbor Energy Challenge will kick off on March 22 in Hartford, striving to reduce the region’s energy usage by 20 percent in three years.
The Neighbor to Neighbor Challenge uses a $4.2 million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy to help residents of 14 Connecticut towns through savings programs, such as for lighting and energy efficiency.
The towns are Bethany, Cheshire, East Haddam, East Hampton, Glastonbury, Lebanon, Mansfield, Portland, Ridgefield, Weston, Westport, Wethersfield, Wilton and Windham.
The predicted lifetime energy savings from this program is $150 million.
