Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships has recognized three Connecticut businesses for excellence in energy efficiency.
North Haven Surgical-tool maker Covidien, Ridgefield pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim, and Bristol sports programmer ESPN were among 12 companies in New England to be honored by NEEP.
Covidien took the top Connecticut award as State Champion Business Leader.
“These improvements reach beyond equipment and behavioral changes to address the work environment and the community,” said Roy Haller of United Illumination of Covidien’s advances.
Each recognized business was recognized by a different utility: Covidien by United Illuminating, Boehringer Ingelheim by CL&P, and ESPN by Yankee Gas. The awards were given out at the 2013 Northeast Energy Efficiency Summit in Springfield, Mass.
