The New England Council has named Katie Chipps, second vice president of external affairs at the Travelers Cos., to its board of directors.
Chipps joined Travelers as director of political affairs in 2003. She previously worked for Northeast Utilities.
The council is a non-partisan alliance of businesses, schools and health institutions that supports and promotes policies that foster economic growth and better quality of life.
