“All-Terrain One” may sound like President Obama’s four-wheeler, but it’s actually NBC Connecticut’s newest news-gathering truck.
The station said the 4×4 pickup can transmit high-definition satellite and microwave images and withstand severe weather conditions.
NBC said the AT1 has state-of-the-art technology that allows its news anchors to get on the air more quickly than they can in conventional news trucks.
The truck also has wireless camera equipment, and its portable gear uses cell phone towers to broadcast live video when satellites aren’t available.

An NBC spokeswoman said she didn’t have information on how much AT1 cost.
