General Dynamics Corp. announced two Navy ship- and submarine-repair contracts totaling $61.8 million that will result in part of the work being done in shipyards in Groton and New London.
General Dynamics received an $18.1 million contract boost from the Navy for services on nuclear-powered submarines and support yard services for naval training ships, the Pentagon said. Work will be performed in Groton and Charleston, S.C., and is expected to be completed by September 2010.
The Navy also awarded General Dynamics a $43.7 million contract boost from the Navy for non-nuclear maintenance and repair support at its New London submarine facility. That work also is expected to be finished by next September. (AP)
