General Dynamics’ Electric Boat submarine yard in Groton has gotten another contract modification from the Navy, this one for $12.5 million, to develop advanced submarine technologies for current and future undersea platforms.
The Navy’s initial contract was awarded last November and is potentially worth as much as $711.4 million over five years.
In May, the contract was modified by $33.5 million.
Electric Boat’s parent says the yard’s crew of 3,000 designers and engineers are assigned to the project.
