Family retailer Nassau’s Furniture says it’s shutting its 35-year-old Avon location and selling the building nearly a year after closing its Enfield store.
The store is at 15 Waterville Road, at the corner of Routes 44 and 10.
Neither the actual closing date, nor the number of workers being displaced, was disclosed in the company’s statement Friday. A Nassau’s spokesman didn’t immediately respond to an email for comment.
With the closing, Nassau’s will have one location remaining – its Weekend Warehouse store at 1315 John Fitch Blvd. in South Windsor.
Nassau’s President David Goldberg said there will be no interruption in customer service and that all existing orders will be delivered as promised.
The South Windsor store will provide service to customers who have purchased from the Avon location.
Last February, Nassau’s closed its former store at 1600 King St. The 27,000-square-foot building, and 18 adjoining 18 acres, sold last March for $1.8 million and is now houses a church.
