Hartford-based insurer Nassau Financial Group has invested in Trussed AI, a California software company that helps regulated businesses manage the risks and compliance requirements associated with artificial intelligence.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The investment was made through Nassau’s Reimagine program, which launched in 2019 and was expanded last year with a $10 million commitment to early- and mid-stage startups in insurtech, fintech and related sectors.
Saratoga, California-based Trussed AI provides software that helps companies monitor AI systems, manage regulatory requirements and establish governance controls. Its customers include insurers, financial services firms and healthcare organizations.
Nassau Reimagine has backed more than 100 startups since its founding. Trussed AI is its
third direct equity investment under the program, following stakes in Westport-based Quorus Inc. and Alabama-based Kadance Inc. earlier this year.
In a statement, Nassau said it believes Trussed AI is well positioned to help regulated enterprises manage AI risk and meet evolving regulatory expectations. The company had $24.8 billion in assets under management and about 500 employees as of year-end 2024.
