Development-stage viral therapy maker NanoViricides said its Shelton production facility is now under construction.
The company intends to produce FluCide drugs at the plant. It has already started small-scale production of the drug candidate, which it hopes can overtake Tamiflu, at its current facility.
The company hired Inno-Haven LLC, which is controlled by Nanoviricides President Anil R. Diwan, to renovate the Shelton plant. Diwan sold some NanoViricides stock to finance the August 2011 purchase of the Shelton building.
Retired Bristol-Myers-Squibb executive Andrew Hah is advising and overseeing the project.
