N. Britain gets $4M grant for community center

New Britain has gotten a $4 million federal housing grant to build a community center that will deliver education, job training and placement services for residents of the Mount Pleasant and Oval Grove public housing developments, authorities say.  

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development announced Wednesday the award to the New Britain Housing Authority.

Partners in the 18,000-square-foot project are the Human Resource Agency of New Britain, Victory Energy Solutions and the Capital Workforce Partners.
