The Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund on Tuesday honored the Mystic Seaport Museum for the energy efficiency improvements at its Latitude 41° Restaurant & Tavern.
Through the energy opportunities program, the museum received $121,000 to replace existing HVAC equipment and control systems in the restaurant. The improvements will lower the facility’s restaurant consumption by more than 250,000 kilowatt-hours each year.
The improvements also increased air quality at the restaurant.
“Mystic Seaport is committed to going green at all levels,” Museum President Steve White said in a press release. “In addition to the energy-saving measures incorporated at Latitude 41° Restaurant, we have recently implemented numerous energy savings measures that have reduced our overall energy consumption by more than 15 percent.”
