Stamford energy supplier MXenergy announced Tuesday it achieved carbon neutrality for the third staight year by buying carbon offsets in Georgia.
MXenergy partners with the Chicago Climate Exchange to offset the greenhouse gas emissions from its operations. Those offsets support Valley Wood, Inc., a 300,000 acre sustainable forest in Georgia.
“I am extremely proud of our continuing environmental commitment and carbon neutral status,” said Jeffrey Mayer, MXenergy president and CEO, in a statement. “Doing what is in our power to help preserve and protect this planet should be a priority for every business and individual in this country.”
MXenergy has more than 500,000 customers throughout the country.
