Wallingford communication-systems manufacturer Mutualink Inc. said former Boston Police Commissioner Edward F. Davis III has joined its advisory board.

The company, which serves public safety and emergency management agencies, said Davis brings knowledge of homeland security and law enforcement.

Davis served as police commissioner from 2006 until his resignation last year.

Mutualink’s board also includes former Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Secretary Tom Ridge, retired generals Wesley K. Clark and Barry McCaffrey, and former New York City Police Commissioner Ron Brooks.
