Hartford lobbying consultant David J. McQuade has been elected to the board of directors of regional Providence & Worcester Railroad Co., which operates in Connecticut.
McQuade, founder and senior member of Murtha Cullina LLP’s Government Affairs Group, was elected at the Worcester, Mass., railroad’s annual meeting earlier this week.
The Providence and Worcester (P&W), founded in 1844, is a regional freight railroad operating in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New York.
P&W’s rail system extends over approximately 516 miles of track, 306 miles of which are in Connecticut.
Before joining Murtha Cullina, McQuade served in the Connecticut Senate Majority Office and was chief of staff to then-Gov. William A. O’Neill.
