Pat Munger Construction Co. of Branford has been selected to build New England’s largest biodiesel facility in New Haven.
New Haven alternative fuel provider Greenleaf Biofuels plans to open a 10-million-gallon per year biodiesel plant in the fall at the Port of New Haven.
Munger will perform site work for the project along with constructing an 8,000-square-foot pre-engineered steel building to support tank farm equipment and utilities.
“We need a partner we can rely on to help navigate uncharted waters – this being the first biodiesel plant in the area and the largest in New England,” said Gus Kellogg, chief executive officer for Greenleaf Biofuels, in a press release. “When we began our search for a contractor for the construction of a new building to house our biodiesel plant, Munger’s name quickly rose to the top of our list.”
