Multifamily housing owners propose three-story, 19-unit apartment building in Stamford

Three multifamily housing owners in Stamford plan to build a three-story, 19-unit apartment building next to one they already own.

James Maffucci, of Fairfield, Jared Schulman, of New Canaan, and John Antonelli, of Stamford, have proposed erecting the 27,567-square-foot building on three parcels covering 0.44 acres at 488 Glenbrook Road and 37 and 41 Parker Ave., according to plans filed with the city. They are doing business as 492 Glenbrook Road LLC.

The proposed building will have one apartment and a lobby on the first floor and nine apartments on the second floor. Three apartments would have one bedroom, while the rest would have two bedrooms. Three units would be designated as below-market-rate units for people who earn no more than 50% of the state median income, the application stated.

The proposal includes razing a one-story, 4,000-square-foot building previously owned by Associated Water Industries.

The plan is scheduled to go before the city’s Zoning Board for review Tuesday.

The applicants own two, three-story buildings next door at 492 Glenbrook Road, which has 16 apartments and ground-floor retail in the building facing the street.
