Multi-sensory King Tut exhibit coming to CT Convention Center this summer

A new “immersive experience” that explores the life of boy pharaoh King Tut is set to open at the Connecticut Convention Center in August.

“Beyond King Tut: The Immersive Experience” opens on Aug. 11, commemorating the discovery of King Tut’s tomb 100 years ago.

The interactive exhibit uses projection mapping and new technologies to create visual environments with cinematic storytelling and  imagery, according to an announcement.

The exhibit was created through a partnership between the National Geographic Society and produced by Paquin Entertainment Group.

“When new technology meets the ancient world, visitors have an experience unlike anything before,” said Tony Luckett, vice president of business development for the National Geographic Society. “Beyond King Tut is a ground-breaking immersive experience that presents historical facts and a fascinating story..”

The Connecticut Convention Center is located at 100 Columbus Blvd., in Hartford. Tickets are timed and dated, and advance purchase at www.beyondkingtut.com is strongly encouraged. Tickets went on sale starting Thursday.
