M&T Bank has opened new branches in Waterford and Newington, the company announced Tuesday.
The branches are in previously empty storefronts at 1095 Main St. in Newington and 124 Boston Post Road in Waterford.
Each branch will have at least six employees, M&T said.
M&T Bank, headquartered in Buffalo, N.Y., acquired Bridgeport-based People’s United Bank in April 2022. People’s United customers were moved to M&T’s platform in September in a rocky transition that prompted an investigation by Attorney General William Tong.
