M&S: King, who defended Hartford in ballpark lawsuit, flees Murtha Cullina to join Carlton Fields as shareholder

Here are several recent staffing shakeups in Greater Hartford.

Leslie King has joined the Hartford office of Florida-based law firm Carlton Fields as a shareholder, and will handle construction litigation.

King was previously a partner at Murtha Cullina, where she won high-profile cases on behalf of the city of Hartford in disputes involving its minor league baseball stadium.

Richard “Rick” Mullins, Jr. was appointed vice president of business development at Plantsville sign manufacturer Sign Pro Inc., responsible for business development, commercial and express sales management, and marketing.

Mullins previously worked as executive assistant to the president and director of Central Connecticut State University’s Institute of Technology and Business Development.

The MetroHartford Alliance, which promotes economic development in Greater Hartford, announced three new hires to its staff.

Margot Early will serve as director of strategic events; Sneha Jayaraj will work as a research analyst; and Shannon Mumley joined the Hartford Chamber of Commerce as director of small business development and strategy. 

Lindsey McGrath was elected partner at blumshapiro, a West Hartford-based accounting and consulting firm, and will focus on partnerships/limited liability companies with a concentration on real estate.

McGrath joined the blumshapiro in 2015 through its merger with Schneider, Schneider & Associates.

Middletown-based Liberty Bank hired three commercial bankers in a push to expand the bank’s presence in Connecticut and enhance its credit risk function.

Dan Flynn will serve as senior vice president and chief credit risk officer; Stephen Roche will take the role of senior vice president and regional manager, commercial banking covering Greater Hartford; and Rick Rabideau is now first vice president and relationship manager in commercial banking, covering northern Connecticut up to the Massachusetts border.

Theodore “Ted” Sergi has been elected to serve as chair of the volunteer board of directors of the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, a Greater Hartford philanthropic organization.

Sergi, who was appointed the board in 2014, was a longtime educator, and served as Connecticut’s Commissioner of Education and the first CEO of the Connecticut Science Center. 

Gregory Muccilli was promoted to partner at Hartford law firm Shipman & Goodwin LLP, focusing on  real estate development, commercial financing, commercial leasing and land use counseling.

Muccilli counsels companies and developers in the acquisition, financing, development, leasing and disposition of commercial, mixed-use and multi-family residential properties.

The United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut announced three new hires.

Annie Sommers Fazzino has joined as a community engagement and marketing manager, Lauren Pereira is now manager of the Women United program and Tiauna Laing will serve as finance manager.
