M. Kate Van Valkenburg has joined the Connecticut team of NBT Bank, an independent, community bank based in Norwich, N.Y., as senior vice president and senior commercial banking relationship manager.Â
Van Valkenberg previously served as commercial loan officer for ION Bank in Farmington.

James Horwitz has been named to the board of directors of the Brain Injury Alliance of Connecticut (BIAC).
Horwitz, managing attorney at Bridgeport law firm Koskoff Koskoff & Bieder, has represented many clients with brain injuries, and is a long-time supporter of BIAC.

Dr. Robert Krug was elected incoming chairman of the board of directors for the American Medical Rehabilitation Provider’s Association (AMRPA).
