Stephanie A. Simmons was appointed senior catering sales manager at the Marriott Hartford Downtown. Previously, Simmons was director of sales and general manager of Avon Old Farms Inn.
Dr. Beth Schweitzer joined the family medical practice of Healthwise in Tolland, an affiliate of the Eastern Connecticut Health Network. Schweitzer is a graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and completed her residency in family practice at INOVA Fairfax Hospital in Virginia.
Read to Grow, which runs local programs in Hartford and Manchester, named Susanne Santangelo executive director. Previously, Santangelo was program coordinator for Prevent Child Abuse Connecticut at the Wheeler Clinic.
Dr. Rebecca B. Apollon joined the department of emergency medicine at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford. Recently, Apollon completed her emergency medicine residency at Baystate Medical Center/Tufts University School of Medicine in Massachusetts.

The Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation in Bloomfield appointed Megan L. Hussey instructor/trainor. Hussey will train and place Fidelco dogs across the nation. Additionally, Mary T. Chappell and Jenny S. Straite were named apprentice trainers.
