Blum Shapiro in West Hartford named Marcus R. Harwood partner. Harwood is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants and serves as treasurer of the World Affairs Council of Connecticut.

Dan Tavares was named principal at Kaestle Boos Associates in New Britain. Previously, he was senior associate at the firm.

The Open Hearth in Hartford made the following appointments: Jack Suchodolski, counselor, working with agency clients discharging from incarceration; and Nancy Herbert, development associate and grant writer for the agency. Previously, Suchodolski was a case manager for Shelter Now and Herbert worked in England for several charities.

Glastonbury-based Haggett Longobardi made the following appointments: John Toscano, audit manager; and Christopher E. Trovato, forensic accounting services group.

Dr. James Pribula and Dr. Robyn Pemberton joined Eastern Connecticut Health Network in Manchester. Pribula joined the department of pediatrics at ECHN and Pemberton will provide newborn care at Rockville General Hospital.

Deborah Sweeney was appointed sales representative in the Andover office of The Perfect Promotion. Previously, Sweeney was promotion marketing manager at Warner Brothers Records in Connecticut.

Gary J. Ceballos joined Murtha Cullina in Hartford as director of administration. Previously, he was administrative manager of a 325-lawyer national firm in Denver.
