The Capital Area Health Consortium elected Laurence A. Tanner chairman of the board. Currently, Tanner is president and CEO of The Hospital of Central Connecticut.

Paul Cahill was named associate national sales director for the Phoenix Investment Partners asset management unit. Previously, Cahill was vice president and external wholesaler for the Pimco Advisors unit of Allianz Global Investors.

Rodney R. Reynolds was elected director of Simsbury Bank & Trust. Reynolds has served in many sectors including manufacturing, real estate development, financial services, philanthropy and working with people with special needs.

The Connecticut Children’s Medical Center and Hartford Hospital named Dr. Paul M. Kanev chief of neurosurgery. Previously, Kanev was chief of the division of neurosurgery at Baystate Medical Center in Massachusetts.
